Biography

Jackson is a former graduate student who graduated with his 5-year BS/MS degree in Nuclear Engineering. He began work for DISMAT in September 2022 and helps with lab tasks such as XRD analysis, RBS analysis, RAMAN analysis, strip drilling, sample preparation/unloading, and chemical inventory upkeep. He has worked on quantifying swift heavy ion irradiation effects on 3C-SiC lattice parameters as well as studying the diffusion of sputtered silver into MgO. Jackson's skills include knowledge in analysis tools and computer codes such as Python, Matlab, Excel, MCNP, Fittyk, GSASSII, SIMNRA, SRIM, and partial knowledge in SCALE, as well as knowledge in material analysis techniques such as Rutherford Backscattering Spectrometry, X-ray diffraction, and Raman Spectroscopy.
