William Jackson Reed

Biography

William Reed received a BS in Nuclear Engineering from Texas A&M University in the Spring of 2024. While attending Texas A&M, William performed undergraduate research for the Fuel Cycle and Materials Laboratory, investigating laser flash thermal diffusivity characterization of fluoride molten salt for the Natura Research Alliance Molten Salt Research Reactor at Abilene Christian University. In addition, William participated in the Summer Undergraduate Laboratory Internship (SULI) Program at Idaho National Laboratory during the Summer of 2023, where he created a Transmission Electron Microscope Electron Energy Loss data analysis application.

 

William is pursuing a concurrent MS - Ph. D in Nuclear Engineering at The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, joining the DISMAT Group in Fall 2024 researching metastable material phase pathways and synthesis via high-energy ball milling.
